#Youth4Disarmament will highlight youth-led initiatives to mark World Youth Skills Day 2022

To commemorate World Youth Skills Day 2022, #Youth4Disarmament will highlight youth-led activities to engage, educate and empower young people in disarmament.

Young advocates, leaders and practitioners are invited to provide information on events and initiatives conducted to engage youth and what inspired them to act by filling out the dedicated webform.

Initiatives can include events, publications, workshops, podcasts, web series, coloring books and other efforts to engage and educate young people on disarmament issues. Activities from January 2021 onwards are eligible.

Efforts that seek to increase youth participation, amplify the perspectives of young people, and build constructive partnerships for change are encouraged. Submissions should highlight how the initiatives have inspired action, innovation, and collaboration within the disarmament field.

Submissions will be featured throughout the week of 11 to 15 July on the #Youth4Disarmament Instagram.

The campaign has been inspired by the Seoul Youth Declaration on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation and its focus on the fundamental importance of a youth-inclusive and youth-led disarmament education.

What is World Youth Skills Day?

The United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day in 2014. The International Day aims to celebrate the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.
