Meet Bwalya Chisanga, #LeadersTomorrow

Bwalya Chisanga has practiced law in Zambia for nearly five years, with a focus on human rights, international and humanitarian law, peace and security, climate action and governance. She holds an an LLM in Human Rights and Democratisation from the University of Pretoria, and an LLB from the University of Zambia.

Ms. Chisanga currently serves as a researcher at the African Union’s Secretariat for the Economic, Social and Cutural Council. Bwalya has previously served as Consultant at both the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa and the USAID-Open Doors Project at Family Health International 360 Zambia.

Ms. Chisanga is an alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative, the USAID Youth Leaders program, and was one of Zambia’s representatives at the World Youth Forum. She is passionate about volunteerism and community work, and has previously served as a volunteer at the Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes.

Ms. Chisanga is currently a member of the Board of the Media Network on Children’s Rights and Development, a leading non governmental organisation focused on children’s rights and development. As a #Leader4Tomorrow, Bwalya will leverage on the knowledge and expertise throughout the workshop to investigate the multi-level effects and interactons of DNA and issues related to, on children’s rights and welfare.
